No agreement with Buhari on appointments – Cleric

The Anglican Bishop of Minna Diocese Rev. Daniel Yisa, on Sunday, said that there was no agreement on appointments and urged Nigerians to allow President Muhammadu Buhari to choose people that could move the country forward.

This came on the heels of criticism from some geographical regions that they were being marginalised by the recent appointments made by Buhari.

Yisa said during a press conference to mark the Silver Jubilee anniversary of Minna Diocese of the Anglican Church of Nigeria that since there was no agreement on appointments or constitutional guidelines, it would be unfair to blame Buhari.
According to him “you do not know the kind of contributions these persons (appointees) have made to the success of the party (APC) and, or to the individual that won elections.
“Was geographical appointment part of the agreement from the beginning? Was there any agreement? Was it documented? So, on what grounds do you take somebody up when there is no agreement?
“It will be unfair for me to accuse the President of not appointing people from one area. It is also difficult for both the federal and state governments to pick up people because they want people of credible characters.”
