school with pomp and pageantry.
In his words of
exhortation, the supervising priest of Gudu Archdeaconry and vicar of Basilica
of Grace Church the Venerable Festus Nwafili urged the outgoing students to be
good ambassadors of the school by behaving as children of the Lord for

In her message, the wife of the Primate of all Nigeria
Anglican Communion Mrs Nkasiobi Okoh who represented the Primate admonished the
outgoing students and the school in general to remain disciplined with the fear
of the Lord so as not to be swayed off by the currents and challenges of life’s
pitfalls.
She said that with complete faith and confidence and
trust in God they will overcome challenges of life.
Mrs. Okoh said the reputation of Anglican
Girl's Grammar School is very high because the independent nature of bringing
up the children in school, the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS) style is
unsurpassed. She commended the Principal, the teachers and non - teaching
staff, asking them to keep the flag flying.
He said no doubt they must have stepped on toes because
of the youthful exuberances but now is tune to look back and identify those
things that made them fall with a view to making amends because they are going
into the larger society and should represent the school well. He urged them not
to tarnish the good image of the school because the AGGS is reputed for high
moral standard and highly qualitative education.
The principal
of AGGS Mrs. Kate Bello was full of thanks to the proprietor of the school, The
Primate, Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh and his wife Nkasiobi for boosting the
morale of staff and students and the overall image of the school. Mrs Bello
also thanked the Education Secretary, the Clergy, teaching and non- teaching
staff of the school.
The Principal said since the set of graduands came in at
JSS1 till their passing out now a lot of water has passed under the bridge. She
said they gave a good account of themselves, and she wished them well.
The senior prefect of the school (the head girl) Miss
Chimere Amiaka also gave a valedictory speech where she appreciated the
authority for giving her the opportunity to serve.
She also confirmed that AGGS
is of high repute, which she said cannot be compared with other schools around.
She is confident that the groomed young girls of today will surely be women of
substance and leaders in future.
She condemned the distruption of schools by insurgents in
the North Eastern part of the country who have truncated and mortgaged the
future of some students in the country.
She warned her fellow mates to be careful for according
to her, all that glitters is not gold.
The high points of the well -attended valedictory service
was the wonderful gifts the school presented the students who excelled in their
studies from JSS1 TO SS3 and the presentation of the outgoing students to their
