47 Benefit From Kubwa Anglican Church Welfare

The Anglican Diocese of Kubwa, under the auspices of the Kubwa Diocesan Development and Welfare Services (KDDWS), has empowered about 47 entrepreneurs in various small-scale businesses. The support items, which were given in conjunction with the Christian Aids Nigeria, included grinding machine, digital cameras, sowing machines, milling and drilling machines, as well as cash rewards to the recipients, who were drawn from Abuja Municipal, Kuje and Bwari Area Councils of the FCT. Speaking at the event, the Bishop of Kubwa Diocese, Rt. Rev. Duke Akamisoko, said the gesture was a clear demonstration of what the church stands for, which includes assisting the less privileged in the society irrespective of their religious affiliations. CAROLINE ABOSEDE ADEMOWO GOES HOME AMIDST EULOGIE

THE remains of Mrs. Caroline Abosede Ademowo were finally laid to rest yesterday as family and friends paid their final tributes to the woman who was referred to as “elegant and graceful in her steps.” According to one of the officiating Bishops, the departure of the octogenarian at 85 brought mixed feelings of sorrow and joy to the shining star, the Dean Emeritus of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and the Bishop of Lagos, the Most Revd. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo. However, from every indication, the cleric dwelt on the second feeling of joy as the life of Caroline was a blessing to the world in every ramification.  No wonder, her departure did not just match the biblical injunction, “let me die the death of the righteous and let my end be like his,” but that her saying bye-bye to the world, was the beginning of another blissful eternity in line with another biblical verse: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints”. ANGLICAN PRIMATE PREACHES DETRIBALISED NIGERIA

  The Bishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Diocese of Abuja, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh has called for a united and detribalized Nigeria, in order for the country to grow and developed to its desired height in the face of the challenges confronting it. Okoh who made this call at the official flag-off of  the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the church said that the challenges affecting the nation, which is as well affecting the church is the issue of tribalism and the absence of unity.
